Very similar to the Rota Torque that I have.

Funny thing is they recommend 215/45/17 up front and it's actually 215/40/17.

They now recommend 215/40/17 front and 255/35/18 rear. It's in revision 1J of the manual, but I believe it was updated a few revisions back.

Good to finally see FFR offer some wheels for the 818. They're not bad looking, a little spindly, but for a value wheel, I honestly I prefer the XXRs that a lot of us have got. Would be nice to have weights posted for them. :confused:

These are the ones on the 2 R that FFR has, when I talked to Jim at SEMA he indicated that they would be offering these and they weigh in about 20lbs each

I am really happy they offer these now! I'll probably grab a set for street use and use my current wheels for the track, now I don't have to shell out for RPF1's saves quite a bit of money!

Hey guys,
I just wanted to chime in & say sorry. We do now recommend using a 215/40R17 on the front. I had looked at our Red 818S which has the 45 series tires on it, so that's what I told Mad Dog to post, not thinking that the 40 series fits better & is now recommended. You could even use a 205/40R17 as this is what we installed on the Green 818S we built last year for SEMA.

EDIT: Given that the 06 WRX hub bore has been verified by several at 56.1mm, looks like there should be no issue with 818 wheel fitment!

Hi all, I'm finishing up my order (12/20/14 delivery!) and have run into some confusion on these wheels....I've sent to FFR and they've been pretty responsive, but figured I'd post here to (maybe) find out quicker if I'm crazy or not:

My donor's a 2006 WRX which I believe has a hub bore of 56.5 and the FFR wheels show a centerbore of 56.1, yet they say they're compatible. I did some quick searching and reading (references below) and it sounds like most after market wheels have a larger wheel bore than the hub bore and come with hub rings (or hubcentric rings?) so that the wheels and hubs fit together well. The car's hub bore would need to be smaller than the wheel's center bore for the wheels to slip onto the hub, right? So it'd make sense if the wheels' bore was 56.5 and the cars' bore was 56.1, but it sounds like it's the opposite. But FFR somehow fit the wheels on the red 818S (2002 WRX donor i believe which has a 56.5 bore?), so then I'm backing to thinking I'm missing something...

Got my wheels today from FFR and the 17" weigh just shy of 20 lbs and the 18" weigh just shy of 22 lbs

Looks like that last link you provided has a couple typos. Should be 56.1 on all of them.

Hi billjr212, thanks for the reply! The 56.5mm for the 2002-2005 may be a typo, but I believe the 56.5mm is right for the 2006 WRX. FFR reminded me that the 0.4mm is negligible. LOL, probably right as I got all hung up on the difference without thinking about how little of a different 0.4mm is. Anyhow, I ordered the 818 wheels and I'll try to remember to post an update once I can test the fit (in a month or two...).

Ah, alrighty then. FFR confirmed via e-mail the 56.5mm was for 06 wrx, so I figured the 56.5mm wasn't a typo on that site. But great news! Sounds like the 06 wrx hub bor is definitely 56.1mm and the FFR 818 wheels should fit superbly :cool:

Just based on the spec sheets, I would say Drag DR-31's. Only ones that can come in both of those sizes. Though, FFR could've had these custom ordered I'm sure.

Data Point on the new Hoosier R7's

225/40 R17 in front are the same width as the 235/40 R17 Toyo RR's. Just a tad shorter in height
245/40 R17 in rear are a tad wider as the Toyo RR 255/40. A tad shorter also.
