I would love to see photos of anyone's finished dash installed with body on when using the vintage gauges.. If you have the the Russ T turn signal set up it would be even better ..

Would love to see how close your far left gauge is to the rolled edge of the dash on the drivers side.

I am beginning to test install my dash with the body on, and the bezel on the far left gauge touches the rolled edge. If I drop the dash down too much so the bezel doesn't touch, the center of the dash is about 1/8 of an inch lower than the rolled edge....

Thanks for any photos you can post..

There was thread here or the other forum in the last week or so that showed a dash where the builder didn't wrap the covering over the top edge of the aluminum. He left it standing upright. Also, I am not sure if this applies to MkIVs but, in the past, people would install the little mirror on top of the dash and use long screws through the fiberglass and into the 3/4x3/4 tube. They used spacers between the fiberglass and tube to move the fiberglass a little as they tightened the screws. You could do this to pull the center of the glass down a little although I am not real thrilled w/ that mirror or that position. Also I am not sure how that might affect the fit of the windshield. Hopefully some one else w/ more MkIV build knowledge will reply here.

I have not done body work so have not adjusted the lip but planning it. Right now it misses the speedo by an 1/8" maybe. This was the best pic I could find.35729

Gage placement is a personal thing since we all do not sit in the car the same way. I always do as Craig mentions about the material at the top of the dash, it has always worked.
