I saw in someone's thread that they had shortened the linkage at the rear of the transmission by flipping the FRR bracket around.
I can't remember who did it.
Anyone remember who it was? Thanks

I think it is Rori that made/makes this shift arm.

I think Goldwing did something also.

Here is a link (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?13026-Goldwing-s-818-Street-The-Phoenix&p=143421#post143421) to what Goldwing did.

I just cut the shaft and drilled a new hole, worked great and gave me plenty of clearance.

How much did you have to cut off of the shaft to get decent clearance? I think I only need about 1/2" or so to make mine clear properly.

You cannot easily move it to far forward as there is a step on the shaft.

Hey Bob, what I did was use a stepped drill bit and drilled the inside of the FFR link. It then slides further down the shaft. I kept the new (re-drilled hole) in the small diameter shaft however. In total I managed to move the FFR pieces about 1 1/4 inch forward - allowing plenty of clearance. I also re-drilled the mounting holes on the side bracket - allowing it to tilt slightly upwards and have better alignment with the linkage. Sorry I'm away from my car - so can't post better pictures.

I did it, cut, grind sides, flip weld, works great. Move the shift bracket towards the front of the car by shifting it forward and drilling 1 new hole

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess we are all trying to shorten it as much as possible. Now I have a few options.....
This forum is awesome.
