I think I have both the fuel pump and the sender wired however there are two additional wires on the fuel pump connector. I am assuming that they are for either the fuel temp sender or the low fuel sender. Can these two wires be removed? Any issues with removing them?
The second part of the question is there are 2 additional plugs in the same harness. I can't find out what these are for. Any ideas??? Can these be removed too?
I am trying to untangle the mass of wires all over the floor boards and less wires are good as long as I don't need them.

The 2 additional wires you are talking about are for the fuel temperature sensor. If you are using the factory ECU, you should try and keep them. Some have just glued the sensor to the outside of the tank.

Hmm, other plugs. I'm thinking "fuel tank pressure control solenoid" and ok, drawing a blank just now. I'll have to look it up.

This is off an 07. Probably two of those on the bottom left there: 35697

what about the fuel sub level sensor?
do I need to add a resister in that line? or remove it altogether ?

Hi Gwarden,
The Subaru level sensor are 45 ohms each.
The FFR or Boyd tank only has one 90 ohm level sensor. So the BW (Black/White) and BrW (Brown/White) go to the new sensor. The L (Blue) wire between the two original sensors can be discarded.

I'm in the process of dieting my harness. I did not get the rear harness or fuel pump control module my donor. I ID'd all the needed pins on the bulkhead to rear harness connectors and pulled out wires for the fuel pump (direct from the relay), fuel level sending unit, as well as all the rear lights. So I'm OK for hooking all those up. Just a few questions/concerns:

I have a Boyd tank with Aeromotive 340 pump and have read that the Subaru controller can't supply full current to it. The Aeromotive instructions show it OK to hook up to constant 12V, so it should be fine to bypass the controller. However, one function of the controller is to cut fuel pressure in case of an accident. But if you've stripped your harness of the airbag circuit, then I assume this wouldn't be active anyway... So, I should be OK with no controller?

Also, I pulled all the wires for the evap system (since I won't be using it) and fuel temp sensor back to the ECU, but want to confirm if it's OK to leave all them open. For the fuel temp sensor, I read it only factors into the purge system, not engine tuning. The lack of it will throw a code, so I can just delete the code, or add in a resister (Bob measured 1.86K at 83F).

Thanks!

Do you know the ohms for the water and oil temperature sensors and the oil pressure sensor?

The Subaru's that the 818's are using don't have oil temperature sensors or the oil pressure sensors.
