Hi,

Has anyone any pointers for insuring FFR in Ontario? I have a buddy who registered his FFR as a 1965 and used Silver Wheels. Registering a FFR as a 2011 would make insurance really expensive, so I was thinking of registering as a 1988 (year of donor car...). What has been the experience of other FFR's in Ontario?

Thanks!

I looked at the Silver Wheels website, and it looks like they no longer insure "kits". Does anyone have any suggestions on who might cover a Roadster?

Thanks!

Just get third party from them. Do the comprehensive/collision part thru someone like Beacon or Family. That's what I do for my motorcycles (Beacon) and cars (Family) here in BC.

Register it in the year built. I did using the info from MOT, affidavits and all. The best outfit I found is Cockwell Insurance
in Atwood, Ontario. A very knowledgable man and very good to deal with. The price was reasonable and the coverage is
with a first class Canadian company.

The subject has been discussed a lot on the FFCars forum...

Registration year is another ball of wax. I'm sure others will chime in with their perspective. By the book, the MTO is supposed to register it as the year it was built...

And for sake of the discussion, I dug up this thread in the archives by googling "register 1964 OR 1965 OR 1966 ontario OR MTO site:http://www.ffcars.com"...
