Are the hubs a slip fit or do they require something more? I have new hubs and they only go on about 1/4 inch. They appear to require some "persuasion".

They should be a snug slip fit. Try cleaning up the spindle with some emery paper or very fine sandpaper. it doesn't take much to make them hang up.

Mike beat me to it. When will you be getting the chassis from Bruce?

Next full eclipse.
As to the hub, I ruined it trying to get it off the spindle. Threw it in the trash, and closed shop. Just not my day

I just cleaned the spindles with some Emory cloth and then threw the hubs in the oven on 350 for about 10 or 15 minutes and they slid right on... Just don't do it in front of your wife...:)

Another helpful trick would be putting the spindle in the deep freeze, which will shrink it. Hopefully enough to make the warmed up hub slip right on.
