View Full Version : Good online sources for OEM Subaru parts?

One of the challenges of going from VWs to another maker is that I don't know where to get OEM parts.

With VWs, there were a lot of companies out there selling OEM parts (IE made by Bosch, ATE, etc) that are the exact same part you'd get at the dealer, but for much, much less. Is there anything similar for Subaru with an online catalog? This would be for things like coil packs, wheel bearings, gaskets, relays, electrical switches, etc.

Thanks in advance!

I made friends with the parts manager at a dealer and get wholesale pricing

With all the cool cars you have to show off, I'm sure that was easy. I doubt he'd be very impressed with my VW Passat or VW Eurovan lol

We checked a few dealers on the parts.subaru site, found one of the cheaper local ones, and called them.
After an explanation of what we were doing, that we'd be racing, etc, they gave us notably better than list prices.

You can probably find something more local to you, but we went through North Coast Subaru on Long Island NY

i've used newenglandsubaruparts.com as a baseline and branched out from there with the help of Google, Amazon, and Rock Auto.

RockAuto.com is a good resource for wear items.

parts.subaru.com has all the part explosion diagrams and the MSRP pricing, plus listing of dealerships that do online parts sales. Then shop around for a local one that will work with you and give you good prices. Most of them at that step seem pretty good to me, if you're looking for a "parts guy", that is.

I'm not sure if they're still an active vendor, but I got a lot of parts from Somerset Subaru. Friendly and good prices:

We are your source for new OEM parts for your 818 Project! (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?12400-We-are-your-source-for-new-OEM-parts-for-your-818-Project!&p=127921&viewfull=1#post127921)

Thanks for the replies everyone. Rockauto.com looks a lot like what I'm used to seeing in the VW world (though has a lot more brand choices). It'll take some googling to figure out which of the brands they offer in any given component is the OEM brand but it's worth it.

I bought my engine parts and items that I wanted OEM Subaru from Sommerset like wleehendrick. They give about 30% discount and you can ask for best price. Be careful though, I had to send a couple things back because they sent the wrong items. They are OK if you give them the part numbers.
