Shift stops on TKO mid shifter

I install the mid shifter on my TKO 600 and it has adjustable stops for the shifter with instructions for adjustment. It is an after market shifter. When I purchased it, the Tremec shifter wasn't available because it had been discontinued.

The instruction sheet that came with the transmission says to remove the stops on after market shifters because it can't be over shifted. Here is the paragraph:

So my question is: What are the experiences with the mid shifter. Are you removing the stops?

I'm in the same boat as you, but am not at go-kart stage yet. The directions are pretty clear, so I followed them and removed the shift stops. Mike said it was OK to do so.

I was at Mike's place yesterday and he was discussing "shift stops" - Tremec does not want them used because they can self adjust with vibration which will prevent the gears from meshing properly and bad things will happen.....
