Hi everyone,
My name is John and I thought it would be appropriate that I introduce myself since I finally registered on the forum. I live in Georgia and am an avid car nut. Having worked on several vehicles doing various projects I thought it prudent to assembly "my own" car. My financial adviser(wife) gave me the go ahead to have a project car again after having sold my last one almost 20 years ago after getting married and needing to buy a house. The only stipulation I have to attain before starting my project car is that we have to get a different house with at least a 3 car garage for me, and 4 bedrooms for her so she can have nieces, nephews and grandchildren visit during the summers and one school breaks.
I have been working in the aircraft industry for 20+ years in the military and civilian side. I have been building things for as long as I can remember with Legos and erector sets(if that doesn't date me I don't know what will). I spent some time in the Air Force where I got a lot of my aircraft training, and also worked for Boeing, and currently work for USAF DOD as a civilian doing depot maintenance on C-130s.
I have always "tinkered" with cars and am excited at what Factory Five has made available for people to work with. I hate the term "Kit Car" because it normally means just a rebodied something else. The FFRs are so much more then a Kit Car from what I have seen and read.
Anyways, I am hear to learn and share my knowledge with those that are willing to teach and learn. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Ciao
John
