Can somebody that has a OEM lower control arm, the one that goes from behind the firewall to the rear hub, give me the measurement from center to center for length? I'm trying to get my adjustable ones in the ballpark as I am installing them.

If you mean the lower rear lateral links, I have 16" center to center in my notes for both the forward and rear links. It's been posted here somewhere previously.

He means the trailing link. I'm not at home, can't measure watching Patriots game.

At this point, you best change the channel

It would be great to have in one place a baseline for all 5 if that is easy enough for someone to grab :-)

Maybe this diagram from the manual will help clarify what parts we're talking about (click to enlarge).

Here's the descriptions from the manual (with my own names in parentheses).

3 - Rear Control Arm forward (lower trailing arm)
4 - Rear control Arm front (front lateral link)
7 - Rear Control Arm rear (rear lateral link)
8 - 6.00" Adjustable Tube (upper lateral link)
9 - 14.00" Adjustable Tube (upper trailing arm)

Rear alignment procedure

With car sitting on the ground with ride height set first.

wagon front lateral link set to 15.75 (400mm)
wagon rear lateral link start at 15.75 (400mm) starting point

sedan front lateral link set to 16.14 (410mm)
sedan rear lateral link start at 16.14 (410mm) starting point

If you have adjustable lateral links, use sedan numbers as that is the FFR base design.
You may want to play with the lengths for tire fitment.

upper lateral link start at 9.5 adjust for camber

Lower trailing arm 20.08 (510mm)
Upper trailing arm ( adjust so lower lateral links form a flat plane)
(use a flat plate laying on the lower lateral links)

Adjust toe with rear lateral link.
Your toe adjustment may mess up your camber adjustment so you may want to repeat your camber and toe adjustments.

15.75 is the wagon width... sedan is 16.0

How'd that work out for you?

Subaru designed and manufactured everything in the metric system if you want that:

trailing arm length: 510mm center-to-center
lateral links wagon width: 400mm center-to-center
lateral links sedan width: 410mm center-to-center

With Rasmus's info, I posted a procedure in post 9 above.
Does it make sense?

Awesome, thank you. I pre-measured the control arms and lower trailing arms based on what I found elsewhere, but had no idea about the upper arms and set them by eyeballing the toe and camber figuring I'll measure later. With this, I'll double check the starting point.
