View Full Version : AN O-ring Oil Fitting
So, I think I've found the source of my oil leak: my pancake style thermostat inlet and outlet are -10 AN O-ring fittings. I have just regular -10 AN fittings on there. Can I just add an o-ring to the fitting I have or is it a special fitting?
Never mind. I bit the bullet and bought new fittings. With expedited shipping, of course...

Give us an update when it's fixed. I am no expert by any means but have not heard of an 'o-ring An fitting'.

O-ring AN have a straight cut thread instead of NPT on one end and use an O-ring to make the seal when tightened. It has a regular AN fitting on the other end.

Its an orb fitting, (o-ring base)

It has AN sized threads, but instead of a flare to make the seal, it uses an o ring.

Ok, got it. I wasn't thinking of the other end of the fitting.
I replaced the regular -AN flared fitting with an o-ring fitting and that has solved the leak.
