Like the look of the Wildwood brake calipers but am going with the FFR supplied brakes. Any thoughts or experience with powder coating the calipers?

There are hi-temp coatings available for brake calipers - I don't think that standard powdercoating will work at the high temps that brakes generate. You may want to consult with a local powdercoater. If there isn't one near you, try Lo-Ko in Oaklawn, IL - they did the ceramic coating on my headers and sidepipes, which may be the material you have to use for brakes.

i used a brush on caliper paint to re-coat my donor calipers this time around. Did something similar with my daily driver many years back. It holds up well and self-levels, so you don't see brush strokes. I think I bought it at AutoZone this time, but they also carry it at Tire Rack.

This is brush-on DupliColor brake caliper paint from the local parts store painted onto PBR brakes on my Mk3. These pictures are not long after I painted them. They still look the same after three plus seasons. So the stuff is durable and I recommend. I will warn though that brake fluid melts it like butter. About like any other paint, and PC doesn't like brake fluid very much either. I've heard of brake calipers getting PC'd like the Wilwoods. But generally have to be completely torn apart as I recall. This is an easier option.

Powder coating the calipers works just fine, the calipers aren't going to get hot enough to ruin the PC. The rotors will not hold up unless you find a high temp coating. it the calipers got hot enough to ruin the pc, your brake fluid would likely be boiling.

I use Mike the powdercoater for all my calipers

Thanks guys, I like the way the brush on looks Edward. Think I'll go that route and save a dollar or two
