Hello all,

While I'm new to the forum, I've been aware of & occasionally kept up on Factory Five cars for many years. I've been really digging into the forum and their phone lines lately though.

Having a recent progression going from a C5 Vette, to a '10 SS Camaro, to a SRT8 Magnum now, the only things around my house with more weight gain than me (new daddy baby weight ;) ) have been my cars. I'm seriously considering a Type 65 Coupe, I've always been head over heels in love with GT40's, but I can't find any kits for them as thought out as any of the FFR cars for anywhere near the price. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to have one of them in my garage too (like right after FFR makes one! :D ).

At 6' 5 1/2" or so I'm told that the roadster really isn't an option. I've seen other kits that have a slightly stretched cabin that may work, but after following FFR for all this time & knowing their reputation I really don't want to shop elsewhere. The GTM's build time is a little daunting for a first time build, but I love that car to death as well. Low and wide are where it's at in my heart. I also prefer a coupe over roadster / convertible as a seriously fast car because I've seen several flipped cars in person, and while I know even Dave went through that in his roadster without hardly a scratch (along with the car for that matter), I have no desire to pull the grass out of my teeth.

I'll be around asking lots of questions I'm sure, looking forward to learning more about these cars!

Matt,

I'm the same size as you and I made it work for me. It CAN be done, with a few simple mods! There are a few guys even taller than us, but we're definitely at the top of the scale. Where are you located?

And welcome to the forum!

:)

Huh, what kind of simple mods? I'm in S FL, near Ft Lauderdale. I think I'd still be looking more at the Coupe, I love that low wide look on the roadster, but a hard top is also important to me these days.

Thanks!

Welcome Matt. No matter which car you decide to build, the community of FFR builders is really the greatest thing. Great cars and great people - you just can't beat that!
