I'm in the process of installing my interior sheetmetal. My intention is to apply the Lizard Skin to the "inside" surface of the sheetmetal, since I won't/can't use carpeting due to race rules. (I'll powdercoat the "back" side.) I've been told that this is the way that many professional racers are going now, since the Lizard Skin produces a durable, non-slip surface on the interior. My big question is should I spray the Lizard Skin before, or after riveting the sheetmetal together? I'm thinking before, since this will be a lot easier and cleaner. But I don't want fitment problems. Any comments/help would be appreciated.

Apply it to the assembled sheet metal. Otherwise you're trying to rivit through the lizard skin. And, one of the advantages to the lizard skin is that there's no seams or gaps.
I didn't spray mine on, I used brushes. Vertical surfaces (like the back cockpit wall) can't take a 2-3mm coat without it running. That means you have to apply 2-3 coats, with plenty of drying time in between. I just bought some cheap brushes, and went out every evenng after work and put on a new layer. Each coat only takes about 30 min to apply. Then toss the brush out and close the lid.
The surface is not all that grippy. It's better than bare alum, but not nearly as good as bed liner. And it's not a particularly cushiony surface, either. Without carpeting, you might consider a layer or two of bed liner on the bottom of the foot box.
