Just wanted to bring this to the attention of everyone. I set out to cut out the hood for the scoop and install the scoop. After tireless searches I settled on 27 buttonheads 2" apart around the scoop. I marked the hood per FFR instruction manual 4" from the front of the recess and 1-1/2" on the sides and back and cut it out. So far so good. I trimmed the lip on the scoop to about 3/4" and laid out all the holes. I used the one in the center at the back to determine my center location at the rear and went by the manual 19" back from the front edge for the placement on the hood fore and aft. Once it was centered up I drilled the back hole and cleco'd it. I did the front holes and cleco'd those. Then I started working my way around adding a cleco as I went. I get to where the radius starts at the back of the scoop and the drill drops right in. Four of the back screws fall in the opening I cut out!!!! I believe the rear dimension should be 2 or 2-1/2" so that the screws have something to attach to and are more uniform around the opening. Another option would be to mount the scoop first before cutting and then mark out the hole and cut it out. You will see where the screws fall and be able to plan accordingly. It was also mentioned that the hood should be fit and gapped to the body before mounting the scoop so you can be sure of the centerline. Hopefully this thread will result in a revision to the manual so others who follow along will have better results.

Mike
