View Full Version : Crooked Windshield?

I measure the distance from the roll bar and when I attempt to position the front fenders, the gap between the fender and windshield post on the driver side is greater than the gap on the passenger side (which hits the A-pillar). I also measured the height of the windshield and while the distance from the roll bar matches, the height of the windshield is off by about 3/4 of an inch and is very noticeable when viewed from 20 feet in front of the car. After making a bunch of measurements, the only thing I can find to explain the difference is that the windshield is crooked. I took a couple of photos of the mounting frame and they are conspicuously different. The first photo is the driver side and the second photo is of the passenger side. Note the difference in the size of the wedge on each side (circled on the photos). The wedge on the driver side stands proud of the weld relative to the wedge on the passenger side. Can anyone shed some light on how to handle the difference (welding is not my forte)? If I lift the windshield, one side will be further forward than the other and if I match front to back height, the windshield looks crooked when viewed from the front.
