I have the Coyote engine with the Ford Racing Controls Pack. The alternator has a three wire connector and a B+ terminal. The three wire connector has the wires GENL1, GENRC, and VBATT monitor. The VBATT monitor is part of the KAPWR circuit so it always has battery voltage. The other two wires go to the PCM. I want to add an alternator light on the dash but don't know how with this alternator. Any ideas?

After some research into the way this alternator is wired, I found that it is PCM controlled and the indicator light is controlled through the message system. Long story short, there is no way to make a conventional dash light work. There is a pseudo method using the Ron Francis part LS11, that turns on the dash light when the battery voltage reaches 11 volts. I think this will turn on the light too late as the battery is almost dead at 11 volts so it will only confirm what is obvious.

Good enough for me. Will just have to manage with one less light to monitor:). Thanks.
