Hi,

I just picked up my cobra tonight, drove it home, and the break lights will not turn off. My friend pumped the breaks a couple times and that worked the first time but now they will not turn off. I'm hoping someone can tell me a quick way to fix this?

Thanks - Don

Could be something as simple as the brake light switch. Whether a donor or Wilwood pedal box and assuming a typical setup, the switch is mounted above the brake pedal arm. The switch closes when you push the brake pedal which completes the circuit and lights the brake lights. If it's out of adjustment or failed, it's staying closed and keeping the lights on. You can turn off the lights by pulling the leads off the switch or just pulling the brake light fuse from the panel. Then adjust or replace the switch as necessary. Likely this is the problem.

I found the problem thanks to you. The nut that holds the switch in place was loose, I tightened that up and the light turned off. Now I need to fix the accelerator pedal, it is very soft and needs to be tightened. I'll post a new thread for that.
