Anyone running traditional fuel injected 5.0s experience any "do's or don'ts" with air intake plumbing? Has its position created any issues with the MAF or did you create a cold air box to shield and/or route air to you filter?
Thanks - Chris

Hi cgunderman,

I am using the Holley EFI Systemax and I have mine plumbed out to the passenger side front wheel well and forward to the area near the radiator. I used the oval hole in the F panel with some modification to exit the engine bay. I don't have a good shot of it as is since I just changed a couple of tubes on it. You asked about the MAF relative to the plumbing. I did read about the correct way to plumb the MAF to optimize it's readings of 0 to5 volts to the ECU. I think it was in a K and N sheet or article where I read this. I haven't been able to find it again. It said to lead in to the MAF with a straight piece or if not that then a gently curved tube of 6 to 8 inches. It also said to exit the MAF with the same. The reason you want the straight shot is for the sensor to read linear flowing air not turbulent. There is a screen in the MAF to help this but turbulence is not good for accuracy of air flow. I was using the donor snorkel and another rubber adaptor but now have the polished aluminum tubes instead. For the C**** set it looks a little bizarre but if you are used to seeing the Mustangs with their EFI setups, it's pretty normal. I will take a shot and add it when I get mine off the lift. Working on the underside at this time. Sorry. WEK.
