The team at Hot Rod Magazine had the chance to drive some Factory Fives on this year’s Hot Rod Power Tour. We brought four Hot Rods to go the 1,800 mile distance, but we also brought our road-worthy Type 65 Coupe. This month, Hot Rod Magazine selected the Coupe as one of the “Best Cars for a Road Trip”! “This is the Viper’s granddad. If Dodge could have called their V-10-powered roadster a Cobra, they would have, and the hardtop Vipers have always shown some resemblance to the Daytona Coupe, the Cobra that Pete Brock somehow managed to make even more beautiful with a more streamlined body. Of course you can’t drive an original Daytona Coupe, they’re priceless. Pete Brock told us himself that the Factory Five version kit car is as good as it gets when it comes to replicas.
