View Full Version : Where is the 51" Brake Line?

I'm running brake lines today and found the 20" and 60" lines in box 5D but couldn't find the 51" line (FFR #13739) referenced in the manual for the front passenger side. No problem. I figured I'd run the driver's side (it's tight around the control arm) and start a thorough search for the elusive 51" line. Driver's side is done but I'll be damned if I can find the 51" line. I've scanned the packing list ten times and see no reference to it. Where is it? Has FFR switched to the 60" line for that run but not changed the manual?

I had the same problem. If I recall correctly I did an extra service loop to that line and used a 60" line.

I don't think there is a 51 anymore, They send an extra 60"

Thanks for the replies. I'll just use one of the 60" lines.

I got the same thing. I ended up getting a double flare kit from Autozone and cut every line. If you have never used one, you can find instructional videos on Youtube. Knowing how to cut the lines will help fix the problem you might have if you end up with a few extra inches, and I think the fit will look nicer.
Good Luck

Here's what I found out. You are supposed to get a 51" line for the passenger side front. Mine is missing but I was also missing two of the metric to standard unions that go from the Corvette soft lines to the FFR supplied hard lines. I figured what the heck and called Whitby's, who supplied my kit, and they are sending me all three parts along with some other back-order items that have shown up. Yeah, I probably could have gone to NAPA and just bought what I needed but I was curious. Plus, I have plenty of other items to tackle so I can be patient with the parts.
