As an 818 builder, I have plans for at least 3 different builds in my head.
The car I'm building is a turbo, with air/water ic & comfy seats, for the street.
One build I have in my head is a lightweight, starting as follows:
Non turbo
Enkei rpf1 16" (<17 #)
Kirkey seats
Alum tank
Alum LCA
I wire harness
Stock early brakes
I would even consider Ford's new 3-cyl ecoboost 1 liter engine.
Has anyone tried a low weight car yet? If so, and you've scaled it, please post your weight.

Are you building R or S as it will make a difference, I'm building an R but I have already added about 120lbs with anti-intrusion protection, but also reduced by about 100 lbs with iWire harness, JDM engine/trans, seat, etc. Saved like 25+ lbs on the fuel cell vs. steel tank. I'll be happy to hit the 818 stock weight

Has anyone made 818 kg, I haven't heard of it yet. I am going light as I can but the target weight is hard. I think you would need a stripped S model chassis.

I'm doing an S. I'm on the fence about I-wire, and leaning that way. Those savings are hard to measure, if it's compared to a diy wiring diet. I've dropped about 50 lbs in seat weight going from stock to aftermarket. I could have done more if I went Kirkey, but they don't look comfortable enough for the street. I think I'd have a chance if I didn't add the AWIC. It's amazing how much every decision matters. 20 pounds here, 20 pounds there. It adds up quick. Even adding wipers
I'm thinking my featherweight plan above (at the top) could break the 800kg mark. I just think it would be fun to make every decision based on weight. I'll have to save up and do a 2nd build. Or, I could leave that for someone else to try and I'll do a GTM instead.

Once I get the fenders and front bumper on I can weigh my R. Should be interesting.
