Just wanted to put a feeler out to you guys and see if anyone has one of the original 2" roll bar hoops for the hotrod. Erik Hansen was kind enough to give me one he had lying around. Thought I would ask before I have one bent up. Let me know what you want for it. As always, thanks for the help.

Evan,

If you can give me some measurements, I might be able to help. I had a guy call me the other day looking. Maybe i need to make up a batch for those who want the hoops.

You might also check with FFR. I believe the early ones were the same as the Cobra without the rear leg. They might sell just a a hoop to you.

Thanks E. Yes, I can also call FFR. They should maybe sell this as an option but I know why the don't so we'll see what they say.

Thanks for your help Tim, Frank Eeski, MK owner is a neighbor of mine and might be available to help me out. It seems there are others out there that want to do the same thing. The roll bar is 2" .120 wall tubing bent 180 degrees in a 6" radius.

If FFR can't sell one because of the inboard tube support issue, I can supply these if the demand is there.

I would be curious of the cost Tim, might be cost prohibitive with the shipping. I only need one bent up. I was going to make a few more phone calls to some local shops. Thanks for your help Tim.

Ant time Evan,

Cost is dependent on the number that can be run. If there were enough interest for ten or so cars, price would probably be in the slightly < $100.00 ea. range.

If Tim is going to do them for $100 then I know I can't compete with that. The cost of of a 20" stick of DOM plus the time involved in making them is going to be more than $100. The stub mounts alone are going to be close to $20 just for the machining for a pair of stub-mounts. On top of all that, I'm not a supporting vendor here so talking about this is probably even a no-no. Looks like Tim is your vendor for roll bars.

And just for the record, my last name is NOT Eeski.

Tim,

If you get some more interest in the dual roll bars from some of the other members I would be interested. In the meantime, I have a couple of leads to follow up on.

Thats funny Frank, my computer separated your screen name into two. Sorry

Maybe other will see this. I didn't take down names of the ones who called because I don't stock them. If there were just three others and the one who called would respond, we can see what can be done. 2-3 weeks lead.

Would that be $100 for each hoop?

Thanks for your reply Tim. Any idea of shipping cost to 91750?

As well, I would recommend a weld in kit. The Bars, the sleeves, and cotter pins. You could make the cross bracing up to the customer as it would be tough to ship and easy enough to get locally.

I've only sold a dozen or so of my roll bars and none of the hoops. Just doesn't seem to be an item most feel they need to change. I will probably take them off my site to make room for some other items I have in the works.

If there's some more interest, I can supply these but i need to have at least 6-10 cars to offer a decent break on the price. A single roll bar is in the $250.00 range, so you can see the price drops dramatically with the numbers.
