I've been looking for a new project. In the past years I've built an aircraft (RV-6) and have restored a few classic motorcycles and cars.
Over the years I've owned many light-weight two seaters including several 240Z's and an early MR2 ('86), both amongst my favorite cars. I still own a 240Z and it's a cherished possession.
I've been thinking about a Miata project car and then read about this design contest on Autoblog about a moth ago. I've been lurking on this site since but figured I'd say hello.
I'm hoping that the 818 turns out to be a well mannered street car with an outrageous power to weight ratio. A modern looking vehicle without looking "futuristic" would ensure that the car will stand the test of time.
With this introduction out of the way, I look forward to participating in the discussion, and ultimately building a car of my own.
