I have 2 T5 from 1990's GT's. One currently in my car is really starting to make a few noises in 1,2, and 3rd that I can hear over the exhaust and wind noise.
I also have in the garage another T5 that I picked up just for carrying it out of their garage - free. Was told it came out of a 5.0 Mustang, but when dry shifted into 3 or 4th it locks up. Dry shift is just on the bench shifting the tranny while I hand turn the shafts.
I have a 1995 5.0 GT tranny here that I can have for about $200 that I drove in the existing car before it was pulled, which shifts smooth and no noises.
As I understand it I can use a 1994/5 tranny if I switch the front shaft with one of the ones off my 1990 tranny.
Does that sound right?

Swap front shaft and use the existing bell housing. You probably already know that, but didn't bother to type it, so I am just double checking you.

that is what I hoped was the answer. From all the reading it seems to be simple if you have an older transmission to pull the input shaft assembly from.
thanks!
