I have ordered my kit Mark IV, 351/427, IRS and T 600. Will be ready to be picked up on 8/2. Headed to build school this weekend. Couple of questions re school and engine pulleys:
1. I have Flaming River P/S rack and pinion and their Saginaw II pump. I also have the Breeze bracket to locate on a 351W. I am trying to get a serpentine belt set to go with this and would prefer not to use the March model that has a long run on top of engine. Probably does not matter since March said it would be a while before they support the Sag II pump. Sooooo. What set would you guys recommend for this application?
2. Besides a camera, anything special needed for build school?
3. What problems have people run into with the larger Willwoods mounted to IRS. I have been reliably told that these are solid mounts and present a problem. I trust the source but would like the particulars of the mechanics of the problem. I am trying to avoid p/bs so am thinking the better and bigger the brakes the less the need for p/b.
Henry.

Working on getting to the magic ten posts so i will be able to put my specs on my signature.

I wonder if your source for the brake problem is thinking solid axle. There have been some problems there as the axle moves in and out which causes the pads to be knocked into the caliper. This gives a slightly low pedal on the first push. I don't remember reading of any problems on IRS cars. I like your thinking on the bigger better brakes giving you great manual brakes.

I installed the FFR upgraded Wilwood brakes on my Mk 4 IRS rear end. I had a very minor problem with interference between the inside of the wheel and the tab for the parking brake. A little cutoff wheel work on the interfering tab fixed that just fine.

There is no issue with an IRS with our 4 piston rear kits as long as the bearings are good and the half shafts a tight. Been doing this kit for 15 ears and has always worked great.

I updated your account and you can now edit your profile and signature.

I run Gordon's smaller Wilwoods on my 15" pin drive IRS wheels and LOVE the pedal effort. The bigger kit is awesome if you are running 17" rims.

Good luck with the build; I'll be following along!
