I just arrived home last week, completing my tour of the Eastern US. 22 days, 3,168 miles towing my coupe, several hundred miles driving the coupe.There were lots of highlights in my trip but the absolute best of all is the wonderful people I met along the way. I reconnected with many old friends and made lots of new friends
The Carlisle All Ford Show was very interesting, although I spent most of my time at the Ohio Cobra Club booth, which featured the annual Raffle Car. This year’s car was a Shell Valley 427 Cobra replica, silver with black stripes. All proceeds from ticket sales got to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation … more on this later in my report on the London Cobra Show. An interesting side note on Saturday at the show. The winner of last year’s raffle car showed up with his car, a Hurricane 427 Cobra replica. It was pretty cool to have 2 raffle cars there and we could point out “last year’s winner” of the raffle. On Sunday, a young couple with a young child walked by and saw the Cystic Fibrosis banner … their youngster is afflicted with this terrible disease. George Daulton, VP of the Ohio Cobra Club and head ticketmaster, invited the youngster to sit in the raffle car. Pictures were taken, of course.
