Some members from Gateway Cobra Club showed up @ 9 and got to work after looking over the mk4. Dan, Kerry, Kathy, Mark, Tim, and Rich. Thanks for your help guys!

We got the buck assembled and positioned the body on it (twice). You’d think the “experts” would know which end is the front of the buck! LOL Tucked away under the deck until it goes back on.

Looks surprised.

After everyone left, Scott (neighbor / friend / car-building buddy) and I started on the IFS. Wow, a couple of those shock spacers were a PITA! Got it assembled, but I think I’m missing the ¾” nuts for the LCA bolts. I checked the boxes twice but couldn’t find them. (are they in another box?)

Got them both together, I think it looks cool. Always liked the suspension on these roadsters, especially with the FFR LCAs.

Caught this guy running through the garage, so I put him to work too.
I always liked Leo’s sock-monkey mascot!

Both sides completed.

Installing the PS spindle. I need to ask my good buddy Rich to powder coat the IFS brackets for me. (why doesn’t FFR PC these like the other IFS components?) Guess I need to hunt down the donor spindle bolts too.

Started removing the trunk aluminum. Finished removing them this morning. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a78/MPTech/P1000014.jpg

Talked the wife into taking it for a spin, but she refused to make Vroom sounds (“why that’s just silly, you’re not going to put this picture on face book!”) ok. Honey, I won’t put it on facebook!

Then Scott took me for a spin around the garage! (we both made Vroom sounds!)

Hey, I can relate to a couple things. We put my body on the buck the wrong way too. I assumed the larger diameter humps on the buck went at the back, but they go on the front. Not too intuitive as the back fenders look larger. Also, sliding the sleeves over the shocks were a pain in the ***. Well, the first one was. I shot WD 40 on the second one and the sleeve slipped right on.

I'm right there with you - got the front suspension on this weekend. Just need to put the hubs and rotors on now. Spent 5 or so hours working on the rear end so that cut into my time, but it's all good. Also ran to the store a third time to pick up the articulating 3/8" joint as the castle nuts on the spindle are so close together that I couldn't get my torque wrench with the socket on them. They know me really well at Home Depot now!
