Factory Five built a new 818R with "some very high-end components" to which they plan on entering into the Ultimate track car challenge coming up July 18th. It would be really neat for FFR to share some of their expertise with us. Maybe even a build thread of this new 818R? Where is the love FFR?

I agree. I'd really like to see FFR participate here to share their stuff. I'm not sure why they don't. If they want to succeed with the 818R, why wouldn't they share their experience....

I'm sure they will post a report and specifics like they did last year. Hopefully the transmission won't be an issue (knock on wood) this time around.

That's no problem really because it looks like the Cosworth engine isn't going to be ready in time so we are building up a 170K mile STi block with larger turbo as a back-up engine and the rest of the car is a build off of the 818R that ran so fast last year. The guys are slammed because the car is being built AND filmed for a pilot episode of a (gulp) reality tv series. I will make sure the crew shares the set-up, parts list, and details with you guys. I hope you all understand that we are running at full throttle every single day and things can slip thru the cracks. Right now I've been hands-off that project as Ive been busy ramping up inventory from 1.6M to 2.2M to address parts shortages that have savaged us (almost all supplier related). Reasonable request though and we'll make it happen.

Awesome! Thanks for the update. Can't wait to hear more about it.

A Cosworth engine putting down the power it is capable would be amazing. Especially if it were mated to a twin scroll header/turbo and had some PPG gears in the tranny. ;)

This is why I love FFR. Amazing response to the community that lives and breaths passion for their cars. Looking forward to hearing more
