View Full Version : Front Bumper lower Mount - how big a gap to frame support?

This body mounting work is kicking my ***. When I have the front bumper at .5 inches higher than the frame at the cab per the instructions (about 5.5 inches for the bumper) my bumper's lower lip is over an inch lower than the frame member you are to rivnut it into. How in the world are you to put the 1/4 inch flange bolts in with rivnuts? They are only .75 inches long.... Can anyone tell me the space they had between the bumper lower lip and the frame or any hints to get this section correct.

I must say getting the body panels/headlights/etc to fit correctly has been a royal pain.

Thank you for saving my sanity ;)

Pretty sure mine was the same way. Check out page 5 of my build log here

Hope this helps you get it sorted out.

Thank you very much, as a first time builder I do not trust what I see and worry about things not being correct elsewhere. I really appreciate the help.

I did the same thing as Erik and Mike way back and everyone else followed.
