Well my last operation was a few weeks ago and my leg is getting stronger. It's been a tough year but I need to get off my butt and back in the garage.

I am looking for some help to install my motor for some fitment questions. I figure Saturday, April 30 in the morning. I'll try to have everything ready by then so it should only be a few hours of actual work.

PM me for my address and phone if you think you might want to lend a hand.

Thanks all

I'm in Mike. Do 2 cripples make 1/2 a man?

Mike, the 30th should be fine. I've got plans the 16th, and then I'll be in CA for the Huntington Beach cruise on the 23rd, so the 30th is perfect (as of right now!) LOL

I'll follow up with you early part of that week to see if things are still going in that direction. Hopefully we can get Mike Daley and Tip, maybe even Eric to come as well...

Talk soon...

Should be good for me as well. Unless something I don't know about comes up, I'm in.

Well I was cleaning up the garage this morning and all of a sudden I heard a snap in my ankle and could not stand on it. I think the plate on my bone might have popped a screw. On the bright side I already had a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. I might have to cancel this weekend. I'll post after I see the doctor tomorrow.

Well I'm afraid it is not good news. I broke both bones in my leg below where they broke before. I won't be workng on the car anytime soon.

Thanks guys, I'm afraid the prognosis isn't too good. Because the bone came out of my skin in the original accident it lost a lot of the connections that makes bones grow so the bones down there are weak, kind of like not watering a plant, that's the analogy he used. They are going to cut my fibula down about an inch to try to get my leg to line up again. It looks like I've been riding a horse for 40 years right now. They are going to operate a week from Thursday and put a cage around my leg with pins going to the bone to stabilize it. If it does not start to heal there is only one option after that. Not been my year.

Mike, are there enough builders around you to organize a build party?

What do you have left to do, and do you have the parts?

This is not welcome news man. You are a really decent guy. I absolutely hate to hear this. The car can wait. Im a bit more concerned about your leg. This is starting to sound a bit sketchy.

Mike, as others said, focus on getting that leg healthy and then plan a build party. Really bad news, but the car will be there when your ready.

Mike,

Sorry to hear that. It may be some consolation that with the recent and current weather, the driving season is just about behind us. When you get the surgery behind you and are ready for some work to be done on the car, let us know and we'll get a group together and in a few weekends we can make up for any time lost with this setback.

Good luck with the new repair procedure on the leg.
