Has anyone been successful in removing a TKO 600 separately from a coupe without pulling the engine/transmission combination
Thanks

I remember this being discussed on the other Forum last year. something like drain ALL the fluid, remove the shifter, and trans mount and lot's of rotating the trans. You should check there.
Chaz...

Yes, it can be done, but it's a PITA! Had to remove mine last summer due to a clutch disc failure, and it was no fun. Got it done though, and while I was in there, I cut out the upper cross bracing on the tunnel. As an FYI, my car has a CCR compliant roll cage with full door bars and steel floor, so no worries about flex or integrity of the tunnel. Tips: Get yourself a "Jethro" with a strong back, take two Advil, no make that three before you begin, and have a cooler of frosty brew waiting at the end of the job! Good luck! ;) Karen

I think in the long run you are better off just pulling the engine and tranny together. Plus you can take care of any other business while the drive train is out.

Karen,
With the help of a "Jethro" and removal of one transmission tunnel cross-brace, I was able to successfully pull the TKO transmission without removing the engine as well
thanks

So I just got done tacking in a transmission mount for my LS1/T56 combination. After finishing puting engine and transmission back in the chasis I stepped back to take a look....and remembered this post. Looking at it, I don't see an easy way to remove the transmission without removing the combination. I think I will go back in and use a removable cross member (like the camaro has) in order to ease trans removal once the car is done. **Sigh, there goes a good days worth of work...
