this weekend I was hoping to wrap up the wiring.
No such luck. The gauges are pretty much set (thanks Jeff Kleiner & edwardb), but I have a few new questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.

1. I broke the post on the FFR supplied oil pressure sender. I went to advance for a replacement, but the sender supplied by FFR is not an OEM part. The FFR part had both a signal and a ground post, the Mustang OEM part is only a signal post. Before I call FFR for a replacement, I'm hoping someone can tell me the replacement part so that I can pick it up locally.

2. I received 3 lights with my kit (1-red, 1-green, 1-blue). The FFR manual shows 4 lights (1-red, 2-green, 1-blue), I know the red is for the alternator circuit and requires a resistor soldered to it, and I presume the green are for L/R signals and the blue for high beams, I just want to confirm this and plan to call FFR for the missing green light.

3. Wiring the alternator circuit is unclear. After I wire the resistor, which lead connects to what wire on the harness.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

1. Speedhut gauges? If so, you can just get one from them directly. May be cheaper and faster. In theory it may be possible to use a single wire sender, and ground the other wire to the block like the OEM and lots of other aftermarket brands do. But I personally would probably stay with the one recommended by the mfg. Also eliminates the problem many guys have with intermittent ground through the threads due to sealant, tape, etc.

2. That's one way to use the lights. Not sure there's a specific "right" way. Do it how you want. Additional lights are available from FFR as you indicated in all the colors.

3. Depends on the alternator. What kind/type do you have? One wire? 2G? 3G?

I have a one wire alternator, Can I simply wire this to the ACC & BAT connections on the ignition switch? Or am I reading something wrong?

Thanks

Ron Francis wiring harness, right? Just use the alternator branch provided. It has two large terminals and a smaller one. If you strip back the convolute a bit you'll see all three are joined 6-8 inches back from the end. Cut off all but one of the large lugs and attach to your one wire alternator. I'm personally not familiar with how to hook up a low voltage light to a one-wire though. I think depends on the particular one-wire you have and may not be easy in some cases. I've run one-wires in both of my builds with only the gauge and no light. Works for me. Maybe others will provide some input.

1. If Speedhut, use this: http://www.speedhut.com/gauges/oil-pressure-sender/search:oil+pressure+sender I broke mine too.

For the one-wire alternator, you can use this part from Ron Francis to wire up a low-voltage light. No resistor necessary. Just use one of your gauge feed wires and a ground.

If at all possible stay away from one-wire alternators. Traditional alternators are much better. I think most one wires can be turned into 3 wires by removing a cap. The advantage of the three wire is that the sensing wire can be ran to a more important location where you would like to maintain your voltage.

I used the red one to let me know the cutout switch was on or off. Turn signals/ hazard same color, and blue for high beam. I joke to myself that the red light means it's alive.
