Left Thursday for wareham and picked up my car on Friday morning. After a night spent in Burlington VT we arrived home at noon today. Woohoo

Let me say that the folks at FFR were fantastic. I want to thank Jason for a great tour. Dave Smith greeted us as we walked in and came back out as we were loading the Roadster. Then the best thing ever. He offered to take me fr a ride in his coupe which i jumped at. After strapping in my not unsubstantial self into the car Dave fired her up and we immediayely went and did some nice big donuts at the front of the shop. We finished up all this with a couple of blasts down the road and into the rear parking lot. Dave finished pff with a great big burnout. All this time he was talking to me about the chassis and the rigidity of the car. I am a believer!! it changed directions like a slot car. Of course I probably only heard about half of what he said cause my ear to ear grin was closing off my ear canals a bit.

His coupe is loud, raucous and has fewer creature comforts than a Russian Gulag. In other words PERFECT!!!

Congrats! Now do the inventory while you are still buzzing. I still haven't found anything missing in my invetory and I've been doing it for almost a year now. :) Ok I did most of it in the beginning but never opened a few items. Take lots of photos. You may want to put them in folders dated progress to date so it will be easy to review later.

I had friends over to help unload and we did the inventory right away. Opened every box and besides the rear nerf bar which was back-ordered it appears that I am only missing the FFR badge. Neither of these items should slow me down at all.

Congratulations, Paul. How big was that Budget truck? And did you have any trouble crossing the border into Canuckistan?

I got a 16 foot truck and there was plenty of room. As for the border crossing it was easy. I went inside showed them the Transport canada letter and the packing list. The Agent looked at it a little asked a couple of questions such as "Are you restoring a car?" to which I said "No, I am building a car and this is some of the parts i will need" He then calculated the HST and I paid. I asked if he wanted to look in the truck and he said "No, have a nice day." That was the end of it. A total of 10 minutes.

You guys got it good crossing the nothern border. Can you imagine the US Mexican border?

Last winter we crossed the border on our way back from a day of skiing whiteface and a night of bar crawling (with a designated driver), I couldn't see, speak, walk etc, a total mess...and had lost my passport. Border guy laughed and waved us through!

Mine comes home soon! Looks good!

I crossed at Massena at about 10am on a Saturday. No lines. I was in and out of Customs in 10 minutes and the Officer didn't even take the time to take a look in side of the truck. Got cleared sight unseen.

Oh the fun has. I have most of the front suspension mounted with the exception of one rotor and caliper. This is so much fun it should be illegal.

Congrats on getting her home, looking forward to seeing the build progress. It looks like you had fun getting it back out of the box truck, FFR makes it so easy putting them in with a fork lift. We ended up making some rolling dollies to key into the frame that worked out pretty well, though I couldn't convince my wife to crawl under the car while we lifted it and put the dollies into place.

Though I have to say... everytime I read one of these posts I feel like I am the only dude who picked up his kit in person and didn't get a ride from Dave... :-)
