View Full Version : 510 Ohm Resistor - 1, 1/2 or 1/4 Watt

I don't see the 510 Ohm resistor specified in the gauge instructions included in my complete kit.

I found them online, but there are 1W, 1/2W and 1/4W versions.

Which is correct?

Also, to be sure, 510 Ohm is not the same as 510K Ohm, right?

As far as installation, this simply gets soldered between the two wires for the red light, and is a necessary part of the circuit for the battery to charge properly, correct?

510K is 510000 ohms. You can use the 1/2 watt IMO though 1 watt gives a little leeway.

The charge circuit will work without the resistor as long as the light is not burned out. The resistor is there so the charge circuit will still work if the light burns out.
