forgive me, I know this has been discussed before but it was buried in some other discussion and I can't find it. I thought we could start a separate post for guys like me that don't know how much used items should go for. I understand this would only be a guideline and of course condition would dictate actual sales price.

I'll start it out by listing the two items that I've sold so far: the hood of my 2006 WRX for $200 and the driver side rear door for 100, both in good condition.
Now to my question: how much is the rear diff out of my 2006 WRX with 142,000 miles in good working condition worth?

Just sold the rear diff out of my 2004 WRX with 95k miles for $140 cash, picked up. I assume that was on the cheap side

parts are worth what someone is willing to pay for it:

I go on Ebay and the Subaru forums and see what other's are asking, you need to benchmark, price slightly lower and move it quickly. I got $198 for my 70K wrx rear diff, $280 for the center diff, $200 for the tail lights

I sold the original exhaust header, up pipe, shields and down pipe separately, total for everything: $360

you need to work the system, it takes a bunch of time tho

Definitely agree with Dan's comment about eBay. It is a good resource. Just make sure to check the box for "sold items" only. Looking only at active listings won't do much for you as some people have wildly unrealistic expectations (same issue with the forums as most people pull down their asking price once an item is sold)

IMHO, selling the whole thing to someone is usually the fastest/easiest way to go. You could conceivably get $1,000 for the stripped chassis after you yank what you need. That makes the "price of admission" less than normal. Hell, I believe the chassis is worth $400 as scrap.

as stated above, prices are what people will pay.

for myself, I checked 2 sources: ebay and http://car-part.com/ to determine what the high/low values were. Normally I priced my part at the low end (depending on condition vs what I saw listed).

I've sold off $1944 and still have some stuff to sell. I had $3500 inc freight in the donor and it had rolled so only the passenger door was undamaged.

Thanks a lot, guys. I appreciate your input! I'm just starting to sell things, but I think I'll update what I sold and for how much as I go. I'm sure that'll be useful information for somebody out there.
