I went to Radio Shack to get the 510 ohm resistor necessary for the charging circuit wired to the red indicator light... they only had 560 ohm resistors... FFR Tech said I should probably use what they recommend... I know there are a few electrical geniuses out there that can explain to me the difference between the two.

The difference is 50 ohms (sorry, couldn't help myself :)). It will be fine.

If you can't get the right value, try 2 1.1k ohm resistors in parallel. Another trick is to get a 470 ohm carbon resistor and file on the side until it reads 510 on your meter. A little heat shrink over the resistor will protect it. Most carbon resistor values are +/-10% so what you are getting might be a little different from the label.

After doing a bunch of research, I used the 560 ohm from Radio Shack - worked fine.

Jeff.... I did delete the line I had in my first post about shooting the first guy that volunteered 50. But these days, people are a little more sensitive to comments like that... Most of my friends would get a kick outta me trying to be politically correct. But I gotta be nice.... I'm coming down the home stretch and I got a few more questions to ask... thanks to you guys for your help.
