Factory Five Open House – June 14: 9 AM to 1 PM

It’s that time of year again and EVERYONE is invited to attend our 17th Annual Factory Five Open House event. This fun one day show includes car show awards, plant tours, live music, our famous Scratch & Dent Sale, free food (hot dogs sort of qualify), and this year, we will be unveiling our all-new 289 FIA/USRRC replica!

See the new 289 FIA/USRRC!

For years we have been talking about designing a truly authentic, period-correct 289 FIA/USRRC replica. We figured the 50th Anniversary of the original 289 FIA car would be an appropriate time to launch this new replica. Upon returning from SEMA last year in November, we began work on our newest model, the 289, which will be introduced in the showroom at 10:00 AM during our Open House event. If you cannot attend, you can view photos and full specifications on our website which will be posted at 10:00 AM.

Garry Bopp arrived today at the factory with his Type 65 Coupe which will be on display in the showroom. Garry has a Gen 1 Coupe and is upgrading his rear hatch with a new glass hatch with help from FFR Tech Dan Golub. We’re excited about this year’s Open House and the unveil of our new 289 FIA/USRRC Roadster replica. The crew is busy cleaning the plant and taking care of details while Tony and Nate have fun on the Power Tour. More news soon.

I was able to snag a quick spy photo of the 289 as the finishing touches and details are being worked on before this Saturday's Open House. If you're able to come to the show, the big unveil is at 10 AM this Saturday. Hope to see you there!

I noticed no shots of the rear end yet... I'm most anxious to see the trunk!

What's the deal on the footboxes?? Are they painted aluminum, or fiberglass?

:)

PS that motor is WICKED!

Look closely at the pics Dave and you can see rivets. The boxes appear to be configured much like the Mk4 but the white definitely gives a fiberglass effect at first glance. Chassis also looks to be pretty much like on the Mk4, right down to the hood hinges---understand that I'm saying that's a good thing

Looking closely at that picture of the 289 in the assembly area, I'm pretty sure that is Erik Treves "Black Mamba". I think that I can see the name Erik on the green card.

The crew is busy getting ready for tomorrow's Open House. The weather is looking a bit sketchy early, but better later. Either way, the show goes on.

Looks beautiful. Been waiting on this to make my decision, but now some other questions. May seem dumb but did anybody sit in it. We know the chassis is the same as the 427 but the body is a bit different so has the dimensions for the driver side changed in anyway sure the comp seat help (hint F5 offer the seats for the 427 too lol). One way or the other getting read to build one of them but wondering which I would fit better in.

it sits exactly the same as the mk4
