Over the years of reading threads on hardtops, it got me thinking about this more and more, what if there was a LeMans style hardtop that could have options that could work on FFR Roadster with more ease. I know this has been talked about, but nothing to the effect of actually being mass produced, for lack of a better term.

I know there have been a few that have made hardtops. Mr. Bruce has some really nice ones, and has done so many variations. So I was wondering if there would be any interest in a LeMans/SC hardtop design.

This would just be a design, I wouldn't build it, though that would be nice.

The idea would be a LeMans/SC hardtop that would have hinged side windows either from the top or off the windshield with rear side windows, but with the option of taking the rear side windows out and replacing them with a side scoop panel. The rear area of the top would not be like the orig LeMans style but would be with a rear hatch, like the DP Replicas one (see photos below), which would have the option of taking the hatch off and replacing it with an SC option.

Probably easiest thing to do would be using Mr. Bruce's one Hardtop with the hatch and side windows (see photos below) and just have and side vent option panel and S/C hatch replacement.

I know there is not much contact info for Mr.Bruce or a website, so not sure how this design could come to fruition.

But thought I would throw this out there anyways:)

David-

I think that most of us interested in a hardtop would be interested in seeing additional design options. I think there are positives and negatives to each design, of course some of these are taste driven, but it would be nice to have some new ideas.

If you have the time and energy, I think some fresh ideas would be welcomed!

I hope you decide to go for it.

Regards,

Steve
