A good friend of mine and I are planning on driving to the Wisconsin Dells for the arrival of the 2014 Hot Rod Power Tour on Friday the 13th of June. (Weather Permitting!) I'll be driving my '33 FFR Hot Rod (#007 w/~10K miles) and my friend will be driving #2611 Challenge Series car (probably in excess of 10K miles).

Hope to see some other FFR cars there!

Best regards,
Tom

Thanks Al, We're hoping to park somewhere near the FFR truck and display. They'll be arriving Thurs night at Chula Vista Resort. Both Terry and I are planning on driving over the AM of Friday, but from different points on the compass.

See you there.

If everything goes well at my inspection on Tuesday I'd love to head up to the dells for HRPT. Something I have been looking forward for a long time is meeting the Road Kill (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL12C0C916CECEA3BC) guys.

Hi 3D, Hope to see you there. Good luck with registration and inspection. In what State are you registering?

In Wisconsin. I'm over in the la Crosse area, so I am not far from the Dells. I was having a hard finding info how to do it for this state. But I ended up having to call the state patrol to setup an inspection simular to a salvage inspection.

Hi 3D,

The drive from LaCrosse to the Dells along old Route 33 is spectacular. If you have a bit of extra time, that would be far more entertaining than driving the Interstate.

Looks to be 98 Miles and about a 2:20 Minute drive this way. Using I-90 and I94 it's 91 miles and about 1:35 minutes. So, if you're looking for the "scenic route" try 33, if you're looking for a shorter time in the car, then the Interstate is a good route.

I use WI's "Hobbyist" plate on my '33 and other cars. It's a one-time cost and the only restriction on the use of the car is that you can't drive it in January!!!! Well, that's not been a problem for me yet!

Further, if your car "looks like" what you are registering it as, they have only a nominal inspection - usually just to make sure the VIN tag is installed properly. So, if you are titling the car as a '65 Ford Cobra, then they'll probably not even check to see if there's a handbrake, windscreen wipers, etc.

Hope to see you at Chula Vista in the Dells.

Best regards, Tom

3D I was able to do everything for my MKIV by mail without inspection but may not be done in time for this weekend
