What rev of the manual do you have? Mine has a pic showing.

wagon belts mount on inside of rear firewall on the flat shelf. Drill a hole through the firewall and the flatstock brace, that is why the firewall is flat vs angled. The flat stock triangular piece is the mounting brace. The belt goes up through the pivot that bolts to the roll bar bracket. page 183 top diagram from cad system

I've been through a lot with my seat belts. The sedan belt installation is clearly documented, but they bind badly. When I did this, the belt had a tendency to slide sideways in the slot and jump off the plastic protectors and get chewed up on the aluminum of the cover plate. They also wouldn't retract unless I helped them.

The wagon belts work a lot better, but they still have problems. I have no idea where to mount the lower mounting point of the belt. I decided to ignore it for now and figure it out when I get to the seats. I'm curious what everyone else did. Also, the rear belts don't click into the front belt receptacles, so you have to swap those out. The front receptacle have a straight mount, but the rear belts have an angle mount. So, once again, it's not obvious how to mount them.

I get the feeling Factory Five doesn't want you to actually use the Subaru seatbelts.
