A friend had a tree fall on her 2004 WRX.
It is a manual transmission with 104k miles on it.
Never raced, general preventative maintenance.
If I can get it for a good price, is this a good donor?
Thoughts?
What is a good price?
Thanks,
Don in Baltimore

Sounds like an excellent donor! It's unlikely ANY of the mechanicals would be damaged. 105K is right at the maintenance interval. Score!

sounds like a good find, unless of course the tree damaged the mirrors :p

UPDATE
I got the car for $3,500.
It is driveable, in fact, I drove it the 9 miles from my friends house to mine.
I've started a Facebook page to chronicle my build.
There are a bunch of pics of the car, engine and exhaust on there.

That's quite the gnarly hit there! Musta been a good-sized tree. Looks like you lucked out on the donor there. Seems you got a fair bit of rust, and under the hood you got some splotches on everything. Do you know what that is?
I'm really happy to see you've got a family 818 build going on, maybe that's just the thing for my own family of engineers to get working together...

Don, FFR charges for that manual, not a good idea to give it away from your facebook page... just sayin
