Hi Gang:

I have fixed seats in both my FFR Cobra and Coupe. I needed all the leg room I could get and could not use seat rails. I now need to be able to let me son and wife fit in the cars and am thinking some kind of seat insert would help position them slightly higher but more importantly closer to the steering wheel and pedals. Any ideas? I guess I could go to an upholstery shop and have something made, but I was wondering if there anything like this ready made for sale.

Thanks,
Jerry

Karen uses a foam pad covered with cloth in her competition coupe. This allows drivers of various heights to drive during an endurance race. I do not have any photo's but it is basically just a piece of foam from a place such as JoAnns. In a pinch she has used folded towels to do the same thing.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that is a good place to start. Maybe if I find the right thickness of foam, I could have it covered with some fabric.

You might consider cutting the pads to fit the seat and back like padding that would be used when redoing the seats. Then have an upholstery guy capture them in a seat cover with elastic border. That way your son/wife could have a nice finished looking seat (easy on and easy off). WEK.

That is a good idea. My goal would have it be two pieces like you are saying...back and seat...connected by material holding it together in a nice upholstered unit. This is beginning to sound like it could work.

Thanks,
