Hello Roadsters, I am having some starting issues. I have had my car running great for some time now. Recently I went to crank it up and the car turns over but does not fire. I have a MSD 6AL box. I checked all of my plug wires, everything looks good. I did a continuity test on the harness going to the 6AL, all wires have good continuity. I did notice that when I turn on the ignition the 6AL red light illuminates than goes out. Is this normal? The engine is getting fuel so I have it isolated to the 6AL. I ran the troubleshooting test on box by jumping the contacts to the distributor with the coil wire 1/2" away from a ground. the test passed because the spark jumped from the wire to the ground. I checked the inertia cutout button. No problem there. I do have gas in the car. I will swap out the 6AL box tomorrow to see if that erases the problem. Any suggestions? I swapped out the coil still no start.

I ran a Ohms test on my MSD 3 blaster coil. Looks like the Ohms reading is 4,498 Ohms. I believe this is the problem. I will check with MSD tomorrow but it should be 11,000 Ohms or so. Please correct me if I am wrong on that one.

Well I thought the coil was the problem the car still won't fire. I'm going to troubleshoot the wires again.

I was looking through my MSD 6AL instructions and the red light should stay on when the key is in the on position. When running it will flash with the trigger signal.

I turned my key to the on positions and the light does not stay on. However the car started. It's gotta be wiring problems. I will take a look at the starter solenoid. Thank you,
