Just finished another Hotrod.

Just finished up another Hotrod. Needs to go to the alignment shop, get a good cleaning then off to the new owner. Here are the particulars.

FFR Hotrod kit (obviously) with all the options.
Hard top
Air conditioning
Power steering
Tilt wheel
Power windows
remote door openers
Coyote 5.0 engine
Tremec TKO
Ford 8.8
Wilwood brakes
Forge line pin drive wheels.
Color is Factory Five black by Carl's Collision center.

Tom. This is my 4th build from scratch. I also did 2 partials. Learning from every one. Glad yours is holding up well. I put a lot of care and time in that build.

I have 398 hours into this build. How the heck do these TV shows build these in 24 hours even with 5 guys?

Mike that is a great looking '33, I'm having trouble mounting the condenser, the brackets supplied are not deep enough, so I used spacers make it fit but now there is interference with mounting the grille and clearance problems with the hood hinges. I did figure out how mount the A/C belt using the zip tie method by Gates and I got Mustang A/C compressor hoses modified to fit the 5.0 compressor. I'm going to have a head scratcher fitting the SCJ intake with an air 2903429035filter

Great looking '33. You do very nice work! Just curious though; if you were building one for yourself, what changes would you make?

I am always curious how different builds would be when building for oneself, rather than a customer.

Automatic transmission: I just feel a car like this is for cruising. I would rather just sit back and drive rather than shift. This is a big change for me as all of my cars have been standards.

Dash: The next one (if I have any say) will have a large area of the dash cut out and have an inset that bolts in or is otherwise held in place. It would be so much easier to work on everything that is hidden back there. Especially if you have air conditioning. Imagine if you could take the whole face of the dash off to access wiring, pedal box, master cylinders, air conditioning etc?

That's about it. Everything else is just how I would build my own.

I had already decide to cut out my dash and do an inset but the gauge area needs to bump out a bit more for gauge clearance so I'm still pondering the overall look. Access is crucial to me since I'm not as agile anymore. The auto tranny is also typically longer and that helps driveshaft clearance too. You didn't mention power brakes? That kinda goes with the cruiser auto tranny deal IMO The HRM33 special edition has floor mounted pedals which may create room for a small booster so I'm watching that aspect as well. The 33 needs an R&S package like the 818

I haven't seen a power brake set up that I like. That's why I didn't mention it. I would love to see a hidden system that bolts right in.
