View Full Version : Connector Pin Removal
Hey guys, I'm working on the electrical portion of this build and I'm having trouble removing some pins from a connector. I know you need to disengage a locking tab for the pins to be removed, but I'm having trouble finding them on this type of connector. As you can see, I've already dorked up two of them trying to get them out. Any inputs? Thanks.

Guns,
Perhaps one of these would work ...

I got them from DelCity but they are available from others.

I'm not familiar with that connector. Some of the pins release from the rear. Can you take more pictures of the rear of the connector and some at an angle from the front?

Sure thing. I won't be home until Tuesday night, but I'll snap some then. It's the connector that the ABS sensors end up plugging into.

I just took mine apart and it looks completely different than yours... Sorry!
In all honesty, though, I would probably just snip the wire where it goes into the backside housing. Leaving the "dummy" pins in place will help keep the connector tight, while preventing moisture from going through the connector at the same time.
Well thanks for looking for me. I was going to try and remove the pins to the max extent possible, but I guess it's not a big deal to cut and cap them.
While we're on the subject, I'm new to this harness dieting thing and I'm wondering if it's as easy as just removing the wires you deem not necessary. I'm assuming it goes deeper then this, but what do I know?
Thanks for all the help.
