It's available at Advance auto parts and it does a very good job. I got a couple of sample bottles at the Mitty to try out, Ok it was more like 18 sample bottles.
24 hours in the solution and these bolts are rust free. It doesn't do anything to clean the grime off these bolts and it doesn't hurt paint. Is bare hand safe and you pour it down the drain to dispose of it safely.

wow!

Any plans to try it out on a larger job? Would love to see how it handles it!

I've used Evapo-Rust on larger pieces but it works best on smaller pieces you can submerge. For larger pieces the directions say to cover it in paper towels, soak the towels and then cover with plastic or foil to prevent it from drying. I did that using Saran Wrap but there were still spots of rust where there was not good contact. Maybe it was my technique. A vacuum bag would be best.

I have been using Evapo Rust on the small stuff and have also had good results. For the big stuff I have been using the Rasmus method with impressive results. http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?12631-818Rasmus-X-Prepared/page3

Is sandblasting the larger parts like brake calipers and hubs a bad approach? I understand it is harder to manage on small things like bolts without a booth.

I glass bead blasted all my parts. You just have to be REALLY careful to seal up anything that shouldn't have sand in it (or remove it altogether), and air blast it well afterward.
