My Mk4 roadster (5.0 coyote) is complete and built with manual steering. During the build I also purchased an ARG power steering rack for future installation. The AGR rack requires no more than 1000 psi or seals will become over pressured and fail.

I am looking at possibly changing out the manual rack. Any Suggestions re proper PS pump for this application? How to achieve the 1000 psi max for the AGR rack?

Thanks in advance

I've got another S197 pump on the way to my house to take apart. According to Ford I should be able to open it up and shim/cut the spring to reduce the pressure. I found all my old equations from Dynamics and knowing that this spring relieves at 1400 psi I should be able to back in to a 1000 psi relief.

Thx Clemson. Can the pressure be reduced with a Heidt valve? This may be easier than cutting the spring

Let me know what you think

Thx

Also interested in answer; my gut says the answer has to be yes?
