Set up my AC lines today. Had them crimped at an automotive shop and then installed them on the car.
Put a two way bulk head fitting on the pass side foot box roof. ran lines from there.

John:
Did you actually install the evaporator box on the top panel of the passenger foot box? How much leg/foot room is left? How are the air hoses routed? Would appreciate photos. Thanks

Looks good John. I kind of wish I had done the bulkhead route on my car.

Carlos, the evap box is in the regular spot on the pass side behind the dash. The lines hang down about 3" into the foot box but not too bad, hey this is a drivers car!!! LOL

Hey, you need the room for the significant other...
As far as the box goes, I see that it's hanging pretty low, and not protruding into the engine bay. Did you have any fitment issues, and is the 0.40 schedule flimsy firewall supporting the unit securely? I'll be using the Spyder GT dash, so I need to figure out how much room I'll have to install the evaporator. Thanks.

John where is your pressure switch? You should have a binary/trinary switch in there so the system won't come on if the Freon pressures are too high or too low.

Scott,
I'm still working on the wiring

Can you put the switch in the port on the reciever/dryer?

ok so clearly I missed something. I saw the switch, however did not realize this needs to be in line. Anybody have a pic of what they did?
Thanks,
John

This seems to fit ok so is that the way the trinary switch should be placed??

So I think that the two red vacuum hoses can be down to 1 after eliminating 1. The heater valve is a cable switch.
Am I correct assume that?

Then for the wiring of the trinary switch I have the four wire version but the original paperwork has a two wire version.

So can I hook up the 4 wire switch with only two wires OR do I have to use the 4 wire diagram that only uses three wires (confusing yes?). If so where do I find the 86 contact?
Thanks,
John

At the relay for the radiator fan here's what I did. Wire from position 85 splits three ways: 1) goes to trinary switch and to ground. 2) goes to temp sensor and to ground. 3) goes to dash switch and ground. This way high pressure in the AC system will turn on the fan or temp sensor senses too hot coolant and turns on the fan or you can override it at the dash switch. What you are basically doing is grounding the relay 3 ways.

So couldn't I just run the blue wire to ground then? That is in principle what your are doing anyway right?
Thanks,
John

You might want to bend up a piece of aluminum for a heat shield where those lines go over the exhaust. It can get really hot there when you're stuck in traffic.

True John, except you need to have the block sensor to turn the fan on if in traffic w/o AC on. I also wanted to be able to manually turn on the fan and by doing the on/off in the ground line it was easier to wire.

I had a two speed fan and used the temp sensor to trigger low speed and the A/C and/or manual switch trigger the high speed.
