Hello Tim,

I had been told by some of the FFR guys that the mod motors won't fit under the Coupe hood? What did you have to do to make it work? I was also wondering what the headers you were using are, and do you just plan to leave them open exit behind the wheel?

Thanks for your time!

Matt, No problem with hood clearance. The only real problem with putting a Modular in the coupe is the width and the headers. I solved these two issues with modifications to the footboxes and FFR Roadster headers and Roadster sidepipes.

That's good to know! What did you have to modify in the footbox area? I'm pretty tall so cant really afford to loose any legroom.

Thanks again Tim!

Matt, For the driver side all you need is 2 pieces of FactoryFive Aluminum FFR#14718 LH 4.6L INNER WALL and FFR#14719 4.6L INNER WALL TOP.
So the Pass side was the only side I really had to modify and in doing so I also dropped the floor. So while cramping up the foot space in favor of the motor nothing was done that effected length other than increasing it by dropping the pass side floor.

One more thing you will need is a new shallower oil pan, and I would recommend the Champ pan sold by Richard Oben of NorthRacecars.

Nice, so the driver's side foot area isn't effected at all?

When you say 4.6 will fit under the hood, is that only the 4 valve engine? or will the 2 valve 4.6 fit as well?

Yes. Same mods for the 2V and height is a non issue.
